STAKEHOLDER workshops

workshop #1: january 2020

In January 2020, we invited a wide range of stakeholders to our first project workshop in Dublin's Alex Hotel.

 

The event featured presentations on Natural Capital Accounting by Professor Jane Stout of Trinity College Dublin, IDEEA Group's Carl Obst and INCASE project lead Dr Catherine Farrell.

workshop #2: FEBRuary 2021

2021

On February 10th, 2021, we held an online stakeholder workshop with over 100 attendees via Zoom and YouTube stream.

With a mix of recorded and live presentations, the line-up of speakers included:

​

  • Gretchen Daily, Founder / Faculty Director, Natural Capital Project – From academia to global action: An introduction to the Natural Capital Project

  • Kathy Willis, Professor of Biodiversity, Oxford University – How the UK Natural Capital Committee has worked since 2012

  • Carl Obst, IDEEA Group Director – Developing the global ecosystem accounting standard: SEEA

  • Lars Hein, Professor Ecosystem Services and Environmental Change, Wageningen University – How NCA has been applied in Netherlands

  • Tom Healy, former Director of Nevin Economic Research Institute (NERI) – How the CSO is pioneering ecosystem accounting in Ireland

  • Grainne Devine, Aquaculture Environmental Officer, BIM – How Bord Iascaigh Mhara is applying NCA in Clew Bay
     

These presentations were followed by highlights from the project team:

  • Professor Jane Stout, Dr Catherine Farrell, Professor Cathal O'Donoghue, Professor Stephen Kinsella, Professor Mary Kelly-Quinn, Dr Daniel Norton, Lisa Coleman and Orlaith Delargy
